Gandhi, who is also the party's leader in Lok Sabha, had attended the press conference held by Yadav and Bhushan immediately after they were removed from the National Executive and had attacked the party leadership for "subverting" the principles of democracy.
When contacted, he refused to disclose the contents of the letter although sources confirmed that in the letter sent "two-three days ago", Gandhi has complained about the "slander" campaign against him and instances of his effigies being burnt.
The MP had in the past cautioned the party leadership against infighting, saying that acting "petty" will spell doom for the party.
"I warn all leaders, however big, and grass root volunteers of AAP, however small, that we have no right to betray the aspirations and faith, reposed in AAP by billions of poor and frustrated Indians, on flimsy grounds and petty resolvable differences.
"Let each one of us including all our leaders understand that if we think, act and play petty during this historic era of hope, the history and people of India will never forgive us and we are bound to be dumped in to garbage of history," he had written.
