Delhi minister Imran Hussain, who holds environment and, food and civil supplies portfolios, today directed his officials of the departments to submit reports on the current status of their proposals and matters every week.
In his order, Hussain, cited Rule 17 of the Transaction of Business of Government of NCT which states that a secretary will submit to the minister a statement on proposals and matters every week.
"The administrative secretary concerned shall submit a statement indicating the current status of important proposals/ matters related to his/her department, the progress made during every week, the expected timeline by which the same will be achieved and also the constraints and coordination which may be required," he said in the order to the departments.
Hussain's letter comes in the backdrop of officers of the Delhi government boycotting meetings with AAP ministers and only maintaining written communication since the alleged assault on Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash by AAP MLAs at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence.
The joint forum of the Delhi government employees, including IAS and Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Service (DANICS) officers, have been demanding a written public apology from Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia.
Yesterday, around 500 officials, including the chief secretary, carried out a candle march from Delhi Secretariat to Rajghat.
