AAP not to contest CMC election

Aam Aadmi Party today decided against contesting the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation (CMC) election to be held on December 18.
In a press statement, observer of party's Chandigarh unit Harjot Singh Bains said, "The party high command has decided to stay away from contesting the election or supporting any political party or independent candidate".
However, he did not give any reason for the decision.
The CMC has 26 wards and presently BJP holds the majority. Besides, there are nine nominated councillors.
