AAP protest against rape-accused BJP MLA

Aam Aadmi Party today organised a protest march against rape-accused BJP MLA Umesh Aggarwal and burnt his effigy in front of his office at Sheetla Mata road here while seeking his resignation.
Leading the protest march, AAP Haryana chief and Uttam Nagar MLA Naresh Balyan said that a court has framed rape charges against the legislator and his associate.
"It is strange and very disappointing that Haryana BJP Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is silent on such a serious and heinous crime against his MLA.
"Khattar must ask Aggarwal to resign on moral grounds," Balyan said.
A Delhi court has put on trial the BJP MLA and two others for allegedly raping a woman in a hotel after giving her sedative-laced drink, saying a prima facie case has been made out against them.

AAP would continue holding protest against the tainted MLA at his residence and office in Gurgaon till his resignation is not taken by the ruling BJP, he said.
Around 500 AAP volunteers, including women, gathered at Atul Kataria Chowk in the morning today.
After around one km of procession, the police stopped the volunteers moving further on the road near Aggarwal's office.
