Aam Aadmi party leader Sanjay Singh today lashed out at RSS's Indresh Kumar for his comments that "Western" cultures like Valentine's Day were responsible for violence against women, saying the saffron organisation and the BJP "have no respect for women".
He said such remarks show the narrow-mindedness of these people.
The AAP leader was replying to reporters queries over the recent comments of the senior RSS leader who had said the "western" tradition of Valentine's Day was responsible for rape, illegitimate children and violence against women.
The RSS leader had said love hold "sacredness" and "piousness" in India, but the West has commercialised it and given birth to the festival.
Singh said these comments are deplorable, and asked him to explain whether a four-year-old or a seven-year-old girl celebrates Valentine's Day that she becomes a victim of rape in Uttar Pradesh.
He said, the BJP and the RSS, rather than controlling crime and improving law and order in the state, were indulging in "cheap" politics by raising such useless issues.
He said the saffron outfit was raising these issues to divert people's attention from its shortcomings.
He said the Narendra Modi-led NDA government has failed on all fronts and has no clear economic or foreign policy.
He said, the Indian economy is in a bad shape and firing from across the LoC has increased and even China is "raising" its eyebrows.
