The 44-year-old filmmaker, whose last outing was 2013 film "Kai Po Che", took to Twitter to share the first poster of his new project.
"Been a fabulous year for us and to sign off before 2016 here is a brief intro to our labour of love #Fitoor #guyinthesky #utv," Abhishek wrote.
The painting like poster features a girl wandering in endless search.
"Yeh Ishq Nahin Asaan" acts as a tagline of the film.
The movie is an adaptation of Charles Dickens classic novel "Great Expectations" and will have Kaif playing Firdaus, while Kapoor will portray the character of Noor.
"Fitoor" will hit the theaters on February 12, 2016.
