Kuhar, who finished only fourth in the Indian Golf Union Order of Merit for junior in 2011-12 season, was leading the field of 51, which included last year's top junior golfer, Honey Baisoya (77).
Trailing Kuhar and Gandas by one shot were Samar Singh Sandhu, Shubhankar Sharma and Tapendra Ghai. Dhruv Sheoran, Dilroop Singh and Inderpreet Bhullar were tied for sixth at 76 each. Honey Baisoya shot 77.
In Category B, Mohan Sardar led the field with a score of 70, the best of the day, while Prakhar Asawa carded 72 and Viraj Madappa shot 74.
Around 96 golfers in Category A (Age group 15-17) and Category B (Age group 13-14) are participating in the event. Out of these 50 are from the IGU's Order of Merit list and rest through an open registration.
The tournament is being played in stroke play format and the cut will be applied after 36 holes tomorrow. There will be an over all winner declared apart from the winners in different A and B categories.
