About 30 kg heroin seized from int'l border every month

BSF jawans have on an average seized around 30 kg heroin every month from the international border in Punjab since January this year.
Border Security Force Inspector General of Punjab Frontier Ashok Kumar said, "BSF jawans have on an average seized around 30 kg heroin every month from the international border. The smuggled heroin comes from across the border but alert jawans seize it at the border."
"This year, till 6 Oct the Frontier jawans have seized 272 kg heroin from Amritsar, Ferozpur, Abohar and Gurdaspur, while during the same peroid last year, 232 kg of heroin was seized," Kumar said.
