About Rs 15 cr note bundles fall on road

Several bundles of rupee notes, amounting to Rs 15 crore, apparently fell on the road when the vehicle transporting it overturned today.
The cash was being taken to Thrissur in Kerala from here by officials of the private South Indian Bank when their vehicle overturned and the door opened, strewing the bundle of notes on the by-pass road near Madukkarai, police said.
No one was injured in the incident, they said, adding, the sight of the several bundles of notes created a flutter among the public.
A police team rushed to the spot and assisted the officials to retrieve the money, police said.
