ACB arrests JVVNL employee for taking bribe of Rs 22,000

An assistant revenue official of the electricity distribution company, Jaipur Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) was today arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 22,000 in Baran district, an ACB official said.
Rakesh Chauhan, who is posted in Shahbad office of JVVNL, had demanded bribe from one Saurabh Sharma for increasing electricity load capacity of his agriculture power connection.
"Sharma had lodged complaint with Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), which after verification laid a trap at a hotel near Shahbad bus stand in Baran where Chauhan had asked the complainant to come with the bribe amount," IG ACB Smita Srivastava said here.
He arrested under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act, she said.
