ACB arrests sub-registrar of Delhi govt and tout

A sub registrar of Delhi government's Revenue department has been arrested by the Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) for "demanding and accepting" a bribe of Rs 25,000 from a person.
"The ACB yesterday arrested Rana Pratap Singh, Sub-Registrar-V (Kalkaji) along with one tout Mahesh Kumar alias Ramesh Kumar for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 25,000 from a complainant," Mukesh Kumar Meena, Special Commissioner of Police (ACB), said today.
A property of the complainant in Govindpuri was registered at the office of Sub-Registrar-V (Kalkaji) on April 8, said the official.
In his complaint lodged with ACB, the complainant alleged that the Kalkaji sub registrar had demanded a bribe of Rs 25,000 through Mahesh for a an original registered copy of his property.

"A trap was laid by the ACB officials and the sub registrar Rana Pratap Singh and tout Mahesh were arrested while demanding and accepting Rs 25,000 as bribe from the complainant," Meena said.
An FIR has been registered at AC Branch police station in this connection under Sections 7, 8 and 13 of Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigation is in progress, the officer added.
