On credible information, a case of disproportionate assets was registered against C Vijay Kumar, working as Tax Inspector at the office of Zonal Commissioner (GHMC) at Kukatpally and simultaneous searches were conducted at his and the residences of his relatives and associates in Hyderabad city and other places, ACB said.
During the searches, one G+6 house, one ground floor house and one flat, two open plots, 1 kg gold ornaments, 2 kg silver articles, two cars, one bike, fixed deposits of Rs 5.8 lakh, bank balances of Rs 1.73 lakh, net cash of Rs 70,000 and one lakh worth insurance policy -- all worth about Rs 1.5 crore were unearthed, it said in a release.
Investigations are underway, the anti-graft body said.
