"The summons asking the two brothers (Arbaaz and Sohail) to remain present in the police station at the earliest will be issued by tomorrow. In case they are not at their residences, the summons will be handed over to their family members," said a police officer at Bandra police station.
The Toyota Lexus was being driven by Sohail's driver Dhananjay Pimple (44), who was taking a U-turn at B J Road junction at 10.30 PM on July 1 when the victim, Chandana Bala, came under the wheels, police said.
Neither Sohail nor Arbaaz were present in the vehicle, police said adding that the victim was a beggar living on the footpath in the locality.
Fearing trouble, Pimple had run away from the accident spot and surrendered before Bandra police station, which placed him under arrest and produced him yesterday before a court here, which granted him bail on a surety of Rs 10,000.
"We would wait for 15 to 20 days for family members or relatives of the deceased to claim the body. In case nobody turned up, police would conduct the funeral," the officer said adding that, "In case if the actors want to remain present during the cremation, they would be allowed."
"The license of Pimple was returned. Pimple can drive the vehicle now. There were no CCTV cameras at the incident site," the officer added.
Preliminary report indicated that Pimple was not drunk at the time of mishap. However, the sample has been sent to forensic lab and the result is awaited, police said.
