Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur urged Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to accord tribal status to the Hatti community of Sirmour district.
This has been a long-pending demand of the state government and Himchal has been representing about the same since many years, Thakur said.
The community has been accorded this status in Uttarakhand and demanded to grant the same status in Himachal Pradesh as well on the same analogy, Thakur added.
The chief minister also demanded to declare the Trans Giri area as a Scheduled Area which will boost the development of the area.
