According to the additional public prosecutor, the accused Alle Raju (32) of Venkatapur village married Anuradha alias Latha (27) of Vemulawada, about seven years ago and they were blessed with a son and a daughter.
The accused Raju physically tortured his wife for additional dowry.
When, Anuradha expressed her inability to bring additional dowry, Raju axed his wife to death on the midnight of January 21 last year, at his residence at Venkatapur.
He also stabbed his one-year-old daughter Srilekha to death after she cried, and fled the scene.
After examining 12 witnesses, the judge convicted Alle Raju to rigorous imprisonment for life and also ordered him to pay a fine of Rs 2000.
