Kodymbady Vishwanath Shetty, who was accused of murdering his friend Vishwanath Rai, was arrested by the DCIB and Uppinangady police in a joint operation with the Tamil Nadu police.
Police said, Shetty (47) was accused of murdering one Vishwanath Rai due to some financial dispute between the two and disposing the body in 2001. He went missing during the trial and had been missing for the last 13 years.
Shetty had been working as a driver in Erode, Tamil Nadu under a false identity, police said. The DCIB and Uppinangady police, based on credible information about his whereabouts, arrested him from there with the help of Tamil Nadu police.
