According to Anti Corruption Bureau, Jagdish Kumar Vishnoi, Assistant Commissioner of Police (East) Jodhpur, had demanded the bribe of Rs 70,000 through his mediator Dungardan from complainant for removing his name from the FIR.
The complainant is an accused in the case registered against him under sections of ST and SC (Prevention of Atrocities) and Vishnoi was investigating the matter.
After verification of the complaint, a trap was laid said Anna Raj, Deputy SP Anti Corruption Bureau (Jalore).
After accepting the bribe, the mediator Dungardan called up the ACP Vishnoi saying he has taken the amount following which both were arrested from separate places, Raj added.
Later, the bribe amount was recovered from the possession of the mediator.
