Asking the Centre to act strong with China on the Ladakh intrusion issue, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said dealing on such matters should be unambiguous and similar in case of both Pakistan and China.
"The union government should give clear cut message to China on the intrusion issue...This kind of situations have always put people living in frontier areas under difficulties, besides hampering development process," he said.
Omar said the Centre's dealing on such issues should be unambiguous and similar vis-a-vis both the neighbours - Pakistan and China.
"We would like the Central government to take up this issue with both China and Pakistan strongly and on same terms so that no such incident takes place in future," he said
Omar was addressing public meetings in Bani, Lohai-Malhar and Dugain, about 300 km from Jammu, in Kathua district.
In a deep incursion, Chinese troops have entered the Indian territory in Daulat Beg Oldi (DBO) sector in eastern Ladakh and erected a tented post.
A platoon-strength contingent of China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) came 10 km inside the Indian territory in Burthe in DBO sector, which is at an altitude of about 17,000 feet, on the night of April 15 and established a tented post there, highly placed sources had said.
A Chinese Army Platoon usually consists of around 50 men.
However, China had rejected reports of the intrusion and said the PLA soldiers patrolled the Chinese side of Line of Actual Control without "trespassing" into it.
