BJP's Yogesh Sagar, who officiated as Speaker for sometime today, warned the agitating opposition members in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly of initiating action or expelling them from the House if they continued their noisy protest.
Opposition benches continued their protest on the fifth day today, shouting slogans, raising placards and throwing pieces of paper in the air during the Question Hour.
However, unrelenting Congress and NCP MLAs continued with their uproar, leading to a 10-minute adjournment of the House.
After the House reassembled, Leader of Opposition Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil said to Speaker Haribhau Bagde, who was back in chair, that Sagar did not give due respect to the opposition.
Bagde directed that Sagar's remarks be expunged from the record.
Education Minister Vinod Tawde defended Sagar and demanded that Vikhe Patil's allegation against him be expunged, to which the Speaker obliged.
Former Deputy Chief Minister and NCP group leader Ajit Pawar drew the Speaker's attention to editorial in the Shiv Sena mouthpiece 'Saamna' criticising the Advocate General Shrihari Aney for his remarks "against" the 105 martyrs of united Maharashtra movement.
However, his voice was buried in the continuing din.
