Khalsa's health condition deteriorated as his fast entered the 50th day today.
He has been sitting on fast at the premises of Gurudwara Lakhnaour Sahib near here since November 14 to demand the release of Sikh prisoners who were put behind bars during the days of militancy in the state and continue to remain behind bars even after completion of their life sentences.
Speaking to reporters, Khalsa said that he will even give up water from tomorrow if his demand does not get fulfilled and added that he will resist any forcible attempt to admit him to a hospital.
A team of doctors of civil hospital here examined Khalsa and submitted its report to the civil surgeon.
A doctor who examined him said that his condition was serious and advised his immediate hospitalisation.
"Khalsa had lost around 20 kgs and his blood sugar levels had also fallen. If he continues the fast he might slip into coma," he said.
Meanwhile speaking to reporters in Lambi, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal reiterated that the Union government must intervene for securing the release of Sikh prisoners who were languishing in various jails even after the completion of their term.
