The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and West Bengal State Commission for Protection of Child Rights also asked for detailed report into the incident.
"The incident of child abuse in the Kolkata School clearly indicates at a huge lack of understanding as it comes to the issue of child safety in school premises," the 'Child Rights and You' (CRY) NGO said.
Child protection in the country cannot be ensured with just having legislations and guidelines, Director, Policy and Advocacy at CRY, Komal Ganotra said in a statement.
Executive committee member of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) Nabarun Dey said the issue came up in the Council meeting held during the day at Jaipur.
"We have initiated steps for preparing a safety manual for all affiliated schools which will be reaching the institutions shortly," Dey said from the Rajasthan capital.
"We want a full fledged probe into the incident. The commission will be ready to assist in every way," West Bengal State Commission for Protection of Child Rights Ananya Chakraborty said.
