Actor assaulted for refusing role to girl

An actor was allegedly assaulted by a mob which forcibly chopped off his hair when he refused to cast a girl as lead in his upcoming film, police said today.
Arjun had come to Bareilly for conducting auditions when Roshni approached him and asked him to cast her as lead. The actor turned down her request as she lacked experience, police said.
Roshni's brother-in-law Amit along with 15 to 20 people Monday came to his office, took him to his Premnagar residence where they assaulted him and chopped off his hair, police said quoting Arjun's complaint.
He also alleged that the accused also manhandled his wife Puja and a fellow artist.

"An FIR has been registered against the accused at Premnagar police station and efforts are being made to arrest them," Additional Superintendent of Police Rajiv Malhotra said.
