Actor Farhan Akhtar hails role of women in his life

Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar has hailed the role of women on the eve of the International Women's Day and said his family has always been his strength in life.
Farhan and Farout Media (a music innovations, publishing and talent development company), are all set to release a special song, 'We are all on the Goodside', in collaboration with music composer Kalyan Baruah.
"It is difficult to quantify the importance...Place of them (women in life). They've always been supportive and appreciated me always in my life. They have always been honest. In a stable family set-up, it's your family who is always your strength," Farhan told PTI when asked about the importance of women in his life including his mother, sister and his wife Adhuna, from whom he got separated.

Referring to the song, he said, "I am honoured to be part of this global movement. This year we are releasing a song with Farout Media. Through this song we talk about equality...Celebrating equality".
The "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" actor said he always tried to come up with innovative concepts through his films on women.
"In the capacity of a writer, producer or director, I always try to come up with interesting concepts and ideas through films with or on women. We had films like 'Dil Dhadakane Do', 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', he added.

The actor said the song was not only a tribute to women but is also dedicated to his daughter.

"It was my daughter Akira who inspired us for this song," Farhan said, referring to a drawing by Akira which had people together on one side of a heart.
"This song also celebrates the spirit of being free and brings together the spirit of oneness," he said.
'We are all on the Goodside' will be released tomorrow and will be available across music services.
