The 64-year-old actor, who has starred in films like 'Ardhasatya' and 'Sadak', was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital here two weeks ago after being diagnosed with a lung infection.
"Amrapurkar has been hospitalised for the past two weeks. He is suffering from complete respiratory failure and is critical. A team of doctors is doing its best to ensure his recovery," said Dr Santosh Shetty, chief operating officer at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, today.
Amrapurkar was last seen on the big screen in 2012 film 'Bombay Talkies'.
