Overcoming early and late round blues, 17-year-old rookie Aditi Ashok managed to make the halfway cut in her first appearance as a professional at the Oates Victorian Open here today.
Aditi added a 77 to her first round 74 and she is currently placed tied 42nd, down from overnight tied 17.
Also making the cut at the 300,000 Australian dollars (USD 210,000) event was Vani Kapoor, who came back strongly after a disastrous 79 in the first round.
Vani, India's top pro over the last couple of seasons, shot one-under 72 in the second round to be 151 and tied 42nd.
Amandeep Drall, who also carded 79 in the first round, followed it up with 74 and she was tied 63rd at 153.
Briton Georgia Hall (69-70) continues to lead in an event that is being played over two courses, the Beach and Creek courses. She is seven-under 139 and is followed by Nanna Madsen (72-68), who played with Aditi.
In the third place was Justine Dreher (73-69) at four-under, one shot ahead of defending champion Marianne Skarpnord (73-70) at three-under 143.
Aditi starting on the back nine, bogeyed the 11th, 13th, 15th and 17th before recovering for her first birdie on 18th. Another birdie on the very next hole, the first indicated that she might recover from the early errors. But she dropped two more shots on sixth and eighth and ended at 77.
Vani played strongly to make up for the first round 79 which had four birdies, six bogeys and two double bogeys. She had four birdies against three bogeys on the second day.
