Senior BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya Thursday alleged that administration suffered in Telangana owing to the absence of full council of ministers and demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao expand his cabinet immediately.

"I believe there is negligence of administration across the Telangana due to absence of full council of Ministers.

I strongly object to the centralisation of power in one (person).. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao should expand his cabinet immediately to resume administration in the state," the BJP MP said.

Rao took over as Chief Minister for a second straight term on December 13 following the thumping win of TRS in the Assembly polls.

Mohammed Mehmood Ali was the only minister to take oath along with him.

Ali has been allocated the Home department.

In a statement, Dattatreya said he met Union Road Transport and Water Resources Minister Nitin Gadkari Thursday and took up road development works in Telangana.

He also urged him to expedite the process of sanctioning permission to the Sita Rama lift irrigation project.

"I thanked him (Gadkari) for sanctioning the Rs 3,030 crores in 2017-18 for improvement of National Highways in the state and helping (the state achieve) second place in the construction of NH," he said.
