Adulterated tea unit unearthed

An adulterated tea packing unit was unearthed here today and 3.5 tonnes of tea and adulterants worth of Rs five lakh were seized by food cell officials, police said.
Acting on a tip off, the officials raided a godown in Udayamaplayam and seized 1.5 tonnes of adulterated tea packets and two tonnes of adulterants.
Action would be taken against the owner of the unit once the laboratory results of samples were received, they said.
