Attorney General K K Venugopal today welcomed the landmark judgement of the Supreme Court setting aside the practice of triple talaq among Muslims.
He also praised his predecessor Mukul Rohatgi for presenting the stand of the NDA government which he said had yielded a positive result.
"I welcome the judgement. Rohatgi as the then Attorney General did a commendable job in presenting the central government's stand," Venugopal told PTI.
However, the Attorney General refused to be drawn into the outcome of the judgement any further.
