Laying on-line foundation stone for the college building here, Chief Minister Arjun Munda said a four-year course of B Tech in Agriculture Engineering would be taught here.
The college would be under Birsa Agriculture University and teaching would be up to the standard of Indian Council of Agriculture Research, an official release said quoting Munda.
Stating that uplift of farmers has been one of the important features in all round development, Munda said the new college would help in expanding agriculture production through state-of-the-art technology.
Munda said after functioning of the college would help the state become self-sufficient in agri-production.
According to official data, the state imports grains to meet its total requirement every year.
