Ahujasons eyeing Rs 200 cr sales, to launch summer collection

Ahujasons Shawl Wale Private Ltd is eyeing Rs 200 crore turnover in three years on the back of retail expansion and more product launches.
"We are eyeing Rs 200 crore turnover in three years time as we expand our retail network and introduce more products.
"While we are known to be a winterwear firm, we are planning to launch a new summer collection made of organic materials," Ahujasons Shawl Wale (P) Ltd Retail Head Bhuvan Ahuja told PTI.
Ahujasons has three outlets in India and one in Japan. It will open two more stores in the country and consider opening stores in global locations like London and Dubai.

"We plan to open 3-4 new stores in 3 years...We have plans to go pan-India. We want to open two outlets in the next financial year in India and we will explore opening outlets in London, Hong Kong and Dubai," he said.
Ahuja said his company goes slow on expansion as it works on a 'company-owned, company-operated' model and most of its products are hand-made, which restricts their availability.

He further said the firm has acquired antique shawls from all over the world in the past decade and is now looking at monetising its antique collection.
"We have about 25 such antique shawls and we are still building our antique collection. We are in touch with some museums across the world to monetise these antique works. Some of the shawls are in the price range of Rs 90 lakh to Rs 1 crore," he added.

It gets about 50 per cent of its total turnover from exports at present and expects a change as it is expanding its retail network.
"In three years, we expect domestic business to contribute 70 per cent to our total turnover and 30 per cent sales will come from exports," he added.
Ahujasons sells its high-end luxury products under Prive brand priced between Rs 5,000 to Rs 15 lakh.
The company was founded in 1979 with the launch of its first store in Delhi.
