Haveus Aerotech India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Air India's subsidiary AIESL (Air India Engineering Services Limited) in this regard, according to a statement issued today.
AIESL will provide technical know-how besides its qualified and experienced manpower including engineers in setting up and operating the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility, that is to be built at an investment of USD 100 million.
"This pact will help AIESL to gain inroads into the world aviation market. The MOU will be beneficial for the two companies witnessing the massive expansion in aviation field.
The proposed facility plans to cater MRO services to the Gulf region, the statement said, adding Haveus Aerotech is the first Indian company to be awarded the contract to build and operate the first and most advanced engine MRO facility in whole of region.
Under the MoU, the AIESL will also provide the required support to Haveus Aerotech India in procuring 145 certifications/ regulatory approvals required for setting up the MRO facility, among others, it said.
