AIADMK today asserted that the allocation of portfolios held by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa to Finance Minister O Panneerselvam was done on her advice and the change effected after duly taking permission.
"All news is going to the attention of our chief. Only after getting Amma's permission do we do anything. The portfolio allocation was done as per her advice. It was her advice to the Governor. The change (portfolio allocation) was effected after getting her permission," AIADMK spokesperson C R Saraswathy told PTI.
She said Panneerselvam will concur with the proposal only if it had the nod of "Amma" (Jayalalithaa).
On Jayalalithaa's health, she said, "There is very good recovery. Amma is conscious. There is no problem. She will be back home soon."
Saraswathy said due to infection suffered by Jayalalithaa, very limited number of people are allowed to meet her.
AIADMK's assertion comes hours after DMK chief M Karunanidhi termed as "surprising" Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao's remark that allocation of portfolios held by Jayalalithaa to Panneerselvam was done "as per her advice".
Dismissing the DMK chief's remark, Saraswathy said the chief minister's advise was given to Governor Rao complying with all norms and questions like the one posed by the Opposition party does not arise at all.
