Deputy Legislature party leader A.Anbalagan alleged that 'fake certificates' were issued to candidates through a joint arrangement by sports associations and revenue authorities.
The CB-CID probe, now instituted by the government to go into the 'fake nativity certificates' submitted by candidates to join professional colleges under government quota, should be broadbased, he told reporters here.
There were also complaints that candidates had joined government service after submitting fake certificates relating to their 'proficiency in sports and games' here, he said, adding, government should direct CBI-CID to cover verification of sports certificates also.
