AIKS to hold protests on September 2

The All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) today announced to hold nationwide protests on September 2 in front of all the district collectorates to demand Rs 3,000 per month pension to farmers, agricultural workers and rural artisans above 60 years.
This was announced by AIKS General Secretary Atul Kumar Anjaan as its national council meeting concluded here today.
The meeting was presided over by MP Prabodh Panda. Over 90 farmer leaders from 14 states participated in the deliberations.
The meeting analysed the central government policies and budget allocations for the agricultural sector.
Per capita income for the population dependent on agriculture is not growing, he said.
The government must spend Rs one lakh crore on the agricultural sector, he said.
