Senior BJP leader Harsh Vardhan, who took charge as the president of the Delhi unit, today said that the party's only aim now is to win all seven seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections to help Narendra Modi become the Prime Minister of India.
"The only challenge and aim in front of the party right now is to ensure a 7-0 win for the party in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and help Narendra Modi become the Prime Minister of India," Vardhan told reporters here.
"We are telling senior leaders of the party to work in this regard and soon we will come up with our list of candidates", he said.
On the perception that there were differences within the party members, especially between him and former BJP state President Vijay Goel, Vardhan said, "there are no differences. All of us are working together to achieve our common goal to ensure a 7-0 win for the party."
Vardhan said the party cadres have already started door to door campaign to expose the "corruption" of Congress and the "anarchy" of the Aam Aadmi Party.
Dismissing the challenge posed by the AAP in the coming polls, Vardhan said, "AAP has become completely exposed by its activities in its 49 days of rule. People now know about they getting foreign funds."
Reacting on the issue of Anti-Corruption Branch not registering an FIR against the Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde but doing so against Reliance Industries Limited chairperson Mukesh Ambani and Union Petroleum Minister M Veerappa Moily among others on the directions of Delhi government, Vardhan said that it only reveals their "double standards."
"AAP has been maintaining double standards and engaging in double speak since the beginning on many issues. They lied and betrayed the citizens of Delhi," he said.
