The AIMIM today handed over Rs one lakh as financial assistance to the family of a Hyderabad man who was lynched near Bidar in Karnataka last week.
AIMIM MLA from Malakpet here, Ahmed Bin Abdullah Balala, met members of the deceased Mohammad Azam's family and handed over Rs one lakh announced by party president Asaduddin Owaisi, the party said in a release.
The party gave Rs 25,000 to Mohammad Salman who was injured in the incident, it said.
Owaisi would request Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to provide an ex gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the family, it said.
