Ajay Tyagi replaces Krishnan as Addl Secy in Eco Affairs dept

In yet another bureaucratic reshuffle, the government today transferred 10 IAS officers, including K P Krishnan, Additional Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs.
Alok Kumar, a Joint Secretary (JS) in the Department of Personnel and Training, has been appointed as Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission "in the rank and pay of JS by temporarily downgrading the post", an official release said.
Ajay Tyagi, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, will replace Krishnan as Additional Secretary and Director General of Directorate of Currency in the Finance Ministry.
Four days ago, the government had brought in a new team at the Finance Ministry transfering Finance Secretary Arvind Mayaram and inducting US-based economist Arvind Subramanian as Chief Economic Advisor as it prepares the groundwork for its first full-fledged Budget next February.
The government said the Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) has approved transfer of Krishnan and nine other IAS officers along with an Indian Economic Services (IES) officer.
Krishnan, a 1983 batch officer of Karnataka cadre, has been given the charge of Additional Secretary in the Department of Land Resources, Rural Development Ministry, in the place of Prabhu Dayal Meena.
ACC has also approved the appointment of R Rajagopal, Managing Director of NAFED, as Additional Secretary in the Department of Agricultural Research and Education in the Ministry of Agriculture. He is replacing Arvind Kaushal.
T Jacob, JS in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, is now JS in the Department of Personnel and Training.
Anup Chandra Pandey, currently JS at Labour Ministry, would take over as Additional Secretary in the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence, in the vacancy of Anju Kumar Bishnoi.
Kewal Kumar Sharma has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Women and Child Development while Navneet Singh Kang as Director General and Additional Secretary CGHS in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
ACC has also appointed Karan Bir Singh Sidhu as Managing Director of TRIFED in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. He is currently posted as JS in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation.
Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi and B N Satpathy (IES) have been appointed as Adviser in the Inter State Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs.
