In the film, the 46-year-old chiselled actor is playing the role of a protector, transformer and destroyer similar to the lord Shiva.

With "Shivaay", Ajay will be donning the hat of producer as well. It will mark the acting debut of Sayesha Saigal, who is the grand niece of Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu.
The shoot of the film has been postponed until October 2015 as the actor is busy shooting "Drishyam".
