Akali govt mortgaged Rs 3954 cr properties: Channi

Leader of Opposition Charanjit Singh Channi today accused SAD-BJP government of mortgaging government properties of Rs 3954 crore through Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authorities (PUDA) from April 2012 to April 2016.
He demanded a CBI inquiry into the loan raised by the state government.
"Badals have to tell the people of Punjab for taking this decision and mortgaging the prime properties," Channi said.
He said that PUDA enclave Sugar Mill site Jagraon loan, Puda Enclave Sugar Mill site Budhalada and Sugar Mill Site Faridkot have been mortgaged with Canara Bank, Chandigarh, with loan amounting to the tune of Rs 750 Crore.
