These vans are equipped with facility of initial tests like biology, serology, chemical, explosive, narcotics and fire-arms would assist in catching hardened criminals, an official spokesman said.
Akhilesh said that in the first phase these vehicles have been sent to Lucknow, Agra, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Allahabad, Varanasi, Meerut and Bareilly zones. In the second phase, the facility would be provided in remaining 67 districts.
He said that through these vehicles collection of circumstantial evidences and spot management could be done successfully.
He said that with this objective modern control rooms have been set up in Kanpur and Lucknow.
Akhilesh said that equipping police with modern resources for effective crime control and quick response was the need of the hour.
