The new film, starring Nandita Das, Manav Kaul and Saurabh Shukla, is a tribute to its earlier version which featured Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi and Smita Patil.
It traces the story of Albert Pinto who leaves his home without informing anyone about his whereabouts.
Alumnus of FTII, Ranade, has helmed children's feature films "Jajantaram Mamantaram", "Goopi Gawaiyaa Bagha Bajaiyaa" and animated TV serials "Karadi Tales" and "Bandbudh Aur Budbak."
