Alert policeman cracks Rs 35 lakh robbery case

An alert police constable cracked a Rs 35 lakh robbery as he inadvertently spotted a man, the accused, roaming suspiciously in the market with a bag and questioned him.
A chase followed in Sadar Bazar area and the accused fled leaving a green colour bag carrying the robbed cash.
The constable, Amit Kumar, took the bag to Sadar Bazar police station. It was later found that Sarai Rohilla police station had received a call about a robbery of Rs 35 lakh near Inder Lok Metro station, said Madhur Verma, DCP of North district police.
The cops examined the CCTV footage and spotted the man running away with a green color bag.
The man was later identified as Amar, a resident of Nabi Karim in New Delhi. Inquiry at his residence revealed that he had left the house with motorcycle on Wednesday.
He was later arrested on a tip-off from Nabi Karim area. During interrogation, Amar revealed that he along with his five accomplices-- Vinay, Rohit, Parveen, Parkash alias Chinu and Harish-- had planed to rob a businessmen Shiv Kumar and his partner Ankur Mittal, said the officer.
The gang also knew that Kumar and Mittal's firm was transferring cash amount of Rs 35 lakh from Karol Bagh.
They followed the employees of the firm carrying Rs 35 lakh on three motor cycles and intercepted their bike near Inder Lok Metro station and snatched away the green colour bag with the cash.
Probe is on to catch other accused who were still absconding, added the officer.
