Alex Solanki of Delhi today ended Madhya Pradesh youngster Raghav Jaisinghani's winning streak at the semi-final stage of under 16 boys singles in the 7th Ramesh Desai Memorial All Indian ranking tennis tournament.
Fourth seed Solanki, ranked No. 6 nationally, drubbed 16th seed Jaisinghani, India no. 24 who had knocked out top seed B R Nikshep in round three, 6-0 6-3 in a one-sided semi-final encounter at the Cricket Club of India here.
Solanki would meet third seed Paramveer Singh Bajwa of Punjab in tomorrow's final. Bajwa, ranked 8th in the country, snuffed out the lukewarm challenge put up by seventh seed Gokul Suresh 6-0, 6-1 in another lop-sided semi-final clash.
The corresponding women's title clash, also scheduled tomorrow, would see top seed Iska Akshara, India no. 3 from Andhra Pradesh, take on fourth seed Himani Mor of Haryana.
While Iska outclassed third seed Karman Kaur of Delhi, nationally ranked fifth, 6-4, 7-6 (5), Himani also needed a tie-breaker in the second set to oust sixth seed Nandini Sharma of Chandigarh 6-2, 7-6(4) in the other semi-final.
