Alfonso Herrera joins 'The Urban Cowboy' TV series

Actor Alfonso Herrera has been cast as the male lead of the upcoming TV pilot of "The Urban Cowboy".
The Fox drama - based on the classic John Travolta romantic film "Urban Cowboy" from 1980 - is a modern retelling of the movie written and exec-produced by Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow), reported Deadline.
According to the official synopsis, Kyle (Herrera) and Gaby are "two star-crossed young lovers, as they pursue their dreams and passions through the sweat of line-dancing in honky-tonks, the grime of the oil refineries and the glamour of modern Texas".
"It's about family legacies, starting over, finding true love and the American dream.
