Silverstone, 37, said she refrains from giving medicines to her two-year-old son Bear as the actress believes that a natural diet is the best way to stay healthy, reported People magazine.
"I'm not against Western medicine. The problem is we're using it as a first step for everything, even when it's not needed," she said.
The 'Beauty Shop' star said that her son has rarely been sick because of his healthy diet.
"Because his body is a super-clean, healthy machine it can defend itself and flush out all the nasty stuff much more quickly than a baby whose diet isn't as kind," she added.
