Alka Lamba appears before DCW, submits CD as evidence

AAP MLA Alka Lamba today appeared before the Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) in connection with her complaint against BJP MLA O P Sharma and was asked to appear again on August 17 along with the SHO and the DCP investigating the case.
"The commission summoned Alka Lamba today in connection with her complaint against O P Sharma for using improper language against her. She was asked to submit evidence. She has submitted a CD, which will be investigated," sources at the DCW said.
She has been asked to appear before the DCW on August 17 along with the SHO, Kashmere Gate, and DCP (North), who are probing the trespassing complaint against her, the sources said.

Lamba, however, accused the commission of inaction, and drew parallel with the previous regime, saying the DCW under Barkha Shukla completed proceedings quickly.
She said that no FIR had been registered against Sharma, whom she accused of using "improper language", and instead a counter FIR was filed against her.
"I have been told that I can be arrested. O P sharma used foul language against me... The DCW called me after three days today, that too for evidence," Lamba told reporters.

"I have been told that the CD will be probed and it will take time. I have been again summoned on August 17. I am a woman MLA, I was attacked and then I am the one who is being summoned again and again.

"When Barkha Shukla was the DCW chief during the Congress government, proceedings were fast and summons issued on the same day," she said.
A case of trespassing, damage to property and preventing government servant from discharging his duty was registered against Lamba, the AAP MLA from Chandni Chowk, at Kashmere Gate police station on August 10 on a complaint by traders there.
Lamba was injured when someone allegedly threw a stone at her during an anti-drug drive there on Sunday. A video clip later showed her vandalising shops along with some of her supporters.
She had lodged a complaint on the same day with the DCW against Sharma.

"During the one day special session of Delhi Assembly, he used improper language against me several times and the Speaker had removed it from the proceedings of the Assembly. Also, during a convention on 7 August, he threatened me saying that I was quite active and I should better be careful," Lamba had said in her complaint to the DCW.
