The state has initiated a slew of development schemes for ensuring all-round development of the state and welfare of its citizens, he said.
The chief minister, in a statement released today, said his government took over the reins of power at a most crucial juncture and catapulted Assam towards the growth trajectory despite facing various problems and challenges.
"Top most priority has been accorded to infrastructure development, agriculture and allied sectors, education, strengthening surface communication, sports, culture, power, information technology, industries, trade and commerce," he said.
The chief minister alleged that the Centre has deprived people of the state by slashing the allocation of funds of some Centrally-sponsored schemes.
The state has requested the Central government to allocate the necessary funds against such schemes, the statement said.
"The state is still confronted with some problems and grievances of the people. The government is striving towards taking the state along the high road of glory and prosperity]," it said.
The state will continue to give regular salaries and other allowances to its employees, it added.
