Aluminium prices fell by another Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today largely in tandem with a weak trend overseas.
Traders said sentiment in aluminium remained bearish in line with a weak global trend where it fell 1.4 per cent, retreating for a fifth straight session, as the softening of the US sanctions on Russia's United Company Rusal continued to weigh on prices.
Globally, aluminium for delivery in three-month was down by 1.4 per cent to USD 2,196.50 a tonne, having closed down 3 per cent yesterday on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, aluminium ingots, sheet cutting, wire scrap and utensils scrap drifted down by Rs 2 each to Rs 162, Rs 158, Rs 158 and Rs 156 per kg respctively.
