Arjun Kapoor, who is working with Boney Kapoor in the remake of Telugu hit 'Okkadu', says it was easier to do his father's film after proving himself in his debut 'Ishaqzaade'.
Arjun, who started his career with Yash Raj Film's 'Ishaqzaade', will be seen this Friday in YRF's 'Aurangzeb' and besides that is currently shooting for 'Gunday' and '2 States'.
"I always wanted to work with dad. After the success of 'Ishaqzaade' it became easier for him to imagine making this big budget entertaining film. It is a romantic-action film. So we will start shooting by the end of this year," Arjun told PTI in an interview here.
The actor's 'Aurangzeb' co-star Prithviraj Sukumaran said he wanted to kill Arjun as he initially wanted to star in the Malayalam remake of the "cult film", starring Mohan Babu.
"I wanted to do the Malayalam remake of the film but the Tamil remake ran in Kerala for 100 days so there was no point in making the remake. I am really happy for Arjun doing this project but I was very jealous of Arjun," Prithviraj said.
Arjun, 27, will be seen in 'Aurangzeb' playing a double role alongwith actors Prithviraj, Sashaa Agha, Jackie Shroff, Rishi Kapoor, Amrita Singh and Sikander Kher.
Directed by Atul Sabharwal, the film was shot in Gurgaon and deals with land mafia in the outskirts of Delhi.
Arjun was initially interested in playing Prithviraj's role of a cop in the movie as he found it to be more layered and interesting.
"I was initially excited about Prithivi's role and Aditya (Chopra) was really surprised that I wanted to play that part. It is a very complexed role... His character does not show emotions and everything is in his eyes and I have always been fascinated by such roles," he added.
Arjun has also bagged Homi Adajania's untitled English project.
