Bharatiya Janata Party chief Amit Shah's proposed visit here on August 16 has been cancelled due to persistent rains, a state BJP leader said today.
The decision to cancel Shah's day-long visit to Shimla was taken because of heavy rains, which have led to loss of life and property in the state, state BJP president Satpal Singh Satti said.
The BJP chief was to address party workers at Peterhoff here on August 16.
Satti said Shah expressed his condolences on the loss of life and property in the state and directed party workers to help the administration in restoring normalcy.
